No upfront payment
Tribute is a strong choice for long video tributes and editor help, but it asks for payment before you start collecting. Choose VidDay for a short, low-cost clip video that you pay for at the end, Kudoboard for a digital card, and FromAll.gift for photos with short messages when nobody wants to film. The video above is our real example.
The practical part
Key facts, the comparison table, who each service is for and how we checked.
What are the key facts?
Tribute is built for long video tributes, VidDay for short and low-cost ones, and FromAll.gift for photos with short messages. The prices below are starting prices from each company’s own page: Tribute and VidDay read on October 30, 2026, Kudoboard on October 17, 2026. We make FromAll.gift, so check the other pages yourself before you buy.
- from $35TributeDIY up to 30 min; paid before collecting.
- from $5VidDaya video up to 3 min; paid when complete.
- from $6.99Kudoboarda board of messages, not a video.
- $39 / $49FromAll.giftphotos only; paid after the preview.
Why do people look for a Tribute alternative?
Usually because of when you pay, because guests have to record themselves, or because the video is short. Tribute works well for many groups. The reasons below are about fit, not quality: paying before anyone has added anything, guests who will not film, and a short video for which the starting price feels high.
Paying before collecting
Tribute asks for payment before you publish and start collecting videos.
Guests do not want to film
Shy, busy or older people often skip a request to record.
A short video
Tribute’s DIY plan starts at $35, for up to 30 minutes of video.
How do Tribute and its alternatives compare?
Tribute is built for long tributes with an optional editor, VidDay for short low-cost clip videos, and FromAll.gift for photos with short messages. The table shows what guests add, what it costs and when you pay. Kudoboard is included because many groups weigh a digital card against a video.
| Service | Guests add | Price (USD) | When you pay | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|

Which service is for whom?
Pick by what your guests will send, how long the video should be and when you want to pay. Voices and faces point to Tribute or VidDay, a quick digital card points to Kudoboard, and photos with short messages point to FromAll.gift. Here is the short version:
Tribute
Long tributes with many video messages, an optional editor and a Video Book.
VidDay
Short, low-cost videos of clips and photos, paid for when complete.
Kudoboard
A digital card of messages, photos and GIFs.
FromAll.gift
A designed photo video with a short message from each person, paid for after the preview.
When is Tribute the better choice than FromAll.gift?
Choose Tribute when you want voices and faces, a long video or someone to edit it for you. Tribute collects video messages, so you see and hear every person. Its DIY plans cover videos of more than an hour, and its Concierge service, $99 on the day we checked, adds an editor.
It also offers a Video Book keepsake with Concierge, at $149. FromAll.gift has none of these: it makes one video of up to 30 photos with short typed messages, and there is no editor to hire.
When is FromAll.gift the better choice than Tribute?
Choose FromAll.gift when guests would rather send a photo than film, and you want to pay only after you see the video. Every frame shows a full photo with a few words and, if the sender likes, a small round portrait, all in one consistent design. Starting and the preview are free.
Choose FromAll.gift if
- Your guests are shy, busy or uneasy on camera.
- You want to pay once, after the free preview.
- You want a 16:9 version for the TV and a 9:16 version for phones.
- Your video is short: up to 30 photos.
Choose something else if
- You want voices and faces: Tribute or VidDay.
- You need an editor to do the work: Tribute Concierge.
- You need a video longer than a few minutes: Tribute or VidDay.
- You want a written card rather than a video: Kudoboard.

How did we check this comparison?
We read Tribute’s pricing page and VidDay’s help page on cost on October 30, 2026, and Kudoboard’s pricing page on October 17, 2026. Because we make FromAll.gift, please confirm the other services’ terms on their own pages before buying. We have not tested Tribute, VidDay or Kudoboard; this page only repeats what their pages say.
On October 30 Kudoboard’s site did not open for us, so its prices are from October 17. We update this page when prices or features change.
