Your relatives live in different cities, so how do you give one gift together? A video made of photos from everyone. Each relative adds a photo and a few words, and the photos become one professionally made video. The one above is a finished example, made for a mother’s 65th birthday. The design has no holiday graphics, so it fits Christmas too.

A frame from the example video: a smiling woman in a pink blouse holding a baby in a red Santa suit, the message “Your newest love!”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Tim”.

Everyone adds photos

What happens when the whole family sends a photo for Christmas?

The family sees everyone in one video, even the people who cannot be at the table. Picture it: after dinner the family gathers by the TV, and the video starts. One photo after another appears, each with a few words and a round portrait of the sender. Our example, made for a mother’s birthday, was watched at home on the TV with the family.

  • The whole family
  • On the TV or a video call
  • At Christmas
  • A vertical frame from the example video: a smiling woman in a pink blouse holding a baby in a red Santa suit, the message “Your newest love!”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Tim”.

  • A vertical frame from the example video: an old color photo of adults and children standing in front of a mountain stadium, the message “Remember how young we were...”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Anna”.

  • A vertical frame from the example video: an old black-and-white photo of a family group on a hillside, with two children and a baby, the message “Congrats! Miss you!”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Emma”.
    Congrats! Miss you!Emma
  • A vertical frame from the example video: an old black-and-white photo of a young woman in a dark coat, the message “Your college days, Mom”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Alex”.
    Your college days, MomAlex

In our example, 8 people from 3 countries sent 19 photos in two days. Each photo came with a small round portrait, so everyone knew at once who sent it.

At Christmas it works the same way: a cousin from another country, a grandmother with an old album and the kids with a recent photo, all in one video. For each relative it is one link and a minute.

Happy tears for everybody, memories forever.

Why does a video from everybody feel better than a Christmas gift from a shop?

Because every photo is a person saying “you are part of this family”. A sweater goes into a drawer and a box of sweets is gone by New Year. A video made of photos from the whole family can be watched every Christmas, and each photo shows who is part of the story.

A frame from the example video with three marks: the photo of a smiling woman holding a baby in a red Santa suit, the message “Your newest love!”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Tim”.
  1. A photo from the sender’s own archive. Each relative finds one that only they have.
  2. A round portrait. It shows who the photo is from, so everyone knows whose memory it is.
  3. A few words. Up to 40 characters, in the sender’s own voice.

The tree, the table, the kids in costumes. Each photo is a Christmas that only one person kept. That is why the evening is full of memories, laughter and a few happy tears.

Is there a version for phones too, for relatives who are far away?

Yes. You get two videos made at the same time from the same photos: a horizontal 16:9 video for the TV and a vertical 9:16 video for phones and social media. Both are included in the price, so you do not choose one or pay twice.

  • 16:9 for the family TV. Play it at the table, on a wide screen without black bars.
  • 9:16 for phones and family chats. It fills a phone screen from edge to edge. Send it to everyone who could not come.
  • Made at the same time. The same photos, messages and music, and a designed frame for every photo.

If the family is not in the same room, send the link during a video call, so everyone watches at the same moment.

Who can add a piece of themselves to the family’s Christmas video?

Anyone who has a photo with the person you are giving it to, in a phone or in a drawer. That means relatives near and far, children, grandchildren, godchildren and old friends. Each adds a photo and a few words, and a round portrait shows who it is from.

  • family friends
  • relatives
  • cousins
  • siblings
  • godchildren
  • aunts and uncles
  • parents
  • in-laws
  • grandchildren
  • old friends
  • stepchildren
  • nieces and nephews
  • friends
  • grandparents
  • old classmates
  • godparents
  • children
  • neighbors

Send a link

Will relatives really do it? Isn’t it a lot to ask?

No. Each relative needs a minute or two: open the link, choose one or two photos and write a few words. There are no selfie videos, no sign-up and no app. Grandparents and cousins can do it from a phone.

  1. Step 1Open the link.
  2. Step 2Choose one or two photos.
  3. Step 3Write a few words and add your portrait. Done.
  • No sign-up
  • No app

December is busy, and a request to record a video easily gets lost. A photo is easy: everyone has a few from past Christmases. Old prints work too.

You do not have to chase people one by one. The app writes the invitation for you, and after adding a photo each guest is asked who else should be in the video. So the link spreads on its own.

The practical part

How it works, what you get, how long it takes and what it costs.

What are the key facts about the video?

You get two videos from the same photos: 16:9 for the family TV and 9:16 for phones. A video needs 10 to 30 photos in total and is built in up to 10 hours. It costs $39 for up to 15 photos or $49 for up to 30, and watching the preview is free.

  • 10–30Photosin total. Every guest can add several.
  • 40 charactersTextunder each photo: a few words.
  • 16:9 + 9:16Formatsfor the family TV and for phones.
  • up to 10 hBuild timeafter you press “Make the video”.

How do you make the video? Three steps for the organizer

You add a few photos, send one invitation link and press “Make the video”. You need at least 10 photos in total. The video is ready in up to 10 hours, you watch the free preview, and you pay once, after it.

  1. Step 1Add a few photosTap to upload your own photos. Add a short line under each, up to 40 characters.
  2. Step 2Send one linkTap “Invite everyone” and send the ready message in a family chat that the receiver is not in.
  3. Step 3Press “Make the video”It needs 10 photos in all. Watch the free preview, change anything, pay once.

The app writes the invitation for you, with the name you enter. Send it as it is or edit it. For Grandma it reads like this:

  • Hi! 🎁 I’m making a surprise video for Grandma from everyone’s photos, and I’d love you to be in it. Could you add photos with Grandma (and a short line for each), ideally today? Just photos: no selfie video, no sign-up, about a minute. Know anyone else who should be in it? Pass the link on. Shh, it’s a secret!

What should you ask relatives for, and what should they write?

Ask each relative for one or two photos from their own archive, plus a few words of up to 40 characters. Old Christmases, the people who cannot be there and family traditions work best. People enjoy recognizing themselves, so old photos do more than new ones.

  • Old Christmases

The tree, the table, the kids in costumes. Old prints and albums are worth a phone photo.

  • Everyone who cannot be there

A photo with the person receiving the gift from each relative, wherever they live.

  • Family traditions

The dish, the song, the walk after dinner: anything your family does every year.

How do you collect photos from relatives who live far away?

Post one link in the family chat, where everyone already talks, and ask for something small: “One or two photos from your own archive, and a few words.” Suggest old prints: a phone photo of a print, taken in daylight without glare, is the quickest way to add a photo nobody else has. Remind once. You decide when to press “Make the video”, so you can wait for slow repliers.

What should people write under their photo?

A few words, up to 40 characters: a memory, a joke the family knows or one wish. The line sits on the photo, so short is the point. These examples fit the limit; “Your newest love!” appears in our example video.

  • “Merry Christmas from all of us!”

  • “Our first Christmas together.”

  • “Remember the burnt cookies?”

  • “Wish you were here. Soon!”

  • “Your newest love!”

  • “Love you, from far away.”

More examples are in What to write in a group video message.

How early should you start?

Start as soon as you decide, and give relatives a few days to reply. The build takes up to 10 hours after you press “Make the video”, and you can preview and fix the video before you pay. The more people you invite, the more days you need. Count back from the day you want to share the video and leave room for the build and a preview.

  1. Day 1Add your photos, get the link and post it in the family chat.
  2. A few days laterSend one reminder.
  3. When most have repliedPress “Make the video”. It takes up to 10 hours.
  4. Next dayWatch the preview, fix anything, pay if you like it.
  5. The big dayShare it on the family screen.

If the video is not ready within 20 hours, you can cancel the order and go back to editing. If the day is tomorrow, choose a simpler gift.

How much does a Christmas video gift cost?

$39 for up to 15 photos or $49 for up to 30 photos. Starting and watching the preview are free, and you pay once, after the preview, if you like the video. Both formats and the music are included. VidDay charges from $5 for a short video of clips (read October 20, 2026); see the cost comparison for what each option includes.

Can the same video be used for other holidays?

Yes: the design has no holiday graphics, so it suits Christmas, New Year, Hanukkah or any family gathering. The steps are the same for every holiday. Only the photos and the words change, for example an old Hanukkah photo with a short line from a cousin.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good Christmas gift that the whole family gives together?

A video made from everyone’s photos. Each relative adds one or two photos from their own archive and a few words, and a service turns them into one video that the family can watch together.

Do relatives need an account to add photos?

No. At FromAll.gift every relative opens the same link, adds photos and, if they like, a short message with their name and portrait. There is no sign-up and no app to install.

Can relatives in other countries take part?

Yes. Everyone uses the same link and needs no account or app. In our example video, 8 people from 3 countries sent 19 photos, and collecting them took two days.

How many photos does a Christmas video need?

At least 10 photos in total, and up to 30. The plan for up to 15 photos costs $39 and the plan for up to 30 photos costs $49. Every guest can add several photos.

How long does it take to make the video?

Up to 10 hours after you press “Make the video”. Relatives need time to reply as well, so give them a few days. You can preview and fix the video before you pay.

Does the video have Christmas graphics?

No. The design is the same for every occasion: the full photo, a short message and a small round portrait of the sender, with music. That is why it suits Christmas and any other family gathering.

Can we keep it a surprise?

Yes. Share the link only in a private chat that the person receiving the gift is not part of. Anyone who has the link can see the group’s photos.

Is music included?

Yes. A music track that fits the length of the video is added and faded out at the end.

Ready to make it?

Add a few photos, send one link, and watch the video before you pay. Relatives do not need to sign up, and nobody films a selfie video.
