No upfront payment
Not another mug. For Teacher Appreciation Week or the last day of school, every family in the class adds a photo from the year and a few words, and the photos become one professionally made video. The video above is our real example, made for a mother’s 65th birthday.
Everyone adds photos
What does a teacher keep after the last day of school?
A video with a photo and a few words from every family in the class. Picture the last day: the field trip, the class play, the science fair and every child with a line from home. Under each photo, a few words and the name of the family who sent it. It is the year, told by the people who lived it.
- For the last day
- From every family
- In the kids’ words

Love you, my dear!
Kate
And here I am!
Leo
Love you, sis!
Lilia
Your newest love!
Tim
All four frames are from our real example, made for a mother’s 65th birthday: 8 people in 3 countries, 19 photos in two days, and not a single recorded clip.
Why a video instead of another mug?
Because a mug says “teacher”, and this video says who they were to each child. Teachers collect mugs, candles and gift cards by the dozen. A video from the whole class shows what their year meant to every family. Each frame holds the full photo, a few words and a small round portrait of the sender.

- 1A photo from the school year. A trip, a class event or a drawing.
- 2A round portrait. It shows which family sent it. It is optional.
- 3A few words. Up to 40 characters, in the child’s own words.
Lines that fit the 40-character limit:
“Best teacher ever!”
“Thank you for this year!”
“You made math fun!”
“We will miss you!”
“Thanks for believing in me!”
“You are our hero!”
More ideas are in What to write in a group video message.
Who can add a photo?
Every family in the class, plus grandparents, aides and the kids themselves. Usually a room parent starts it and the other families join in. After adding a photo, each guest is asked who else should be in the video, so the link travels on by itself.
- room parents
- parents
- the kids
- grandparents
- aides
- the principal
- former students
- coaches
- the whole class
- siblings
- librarian
- volunteers
- PTA
- bus driver
- tutors
- families
- school nurse
- substitutes
What if a family has no photo with the teacher?
A photo of the child at school, or of a drawing for the teacher, works just as well. A phone photo of a drawing is a photo like any other. A class of 25 families fills a large video. Nobody has to sign up or install an app.
Is there a version for phones?
Yes. You get two videos from the same photos: 16:9 for the TV and 9:16 for phones. Both are made at the same time and included in one price. Play the 16:9 video on the classroom screen on the last day, and send the 9:16 version to the teacher’s phone.
- 16:9 for the TV. Play it at the party or on a video call.
- 9:16 for phones. It fills the screen. Send it to everyone who took part.
- One price for both. The same photos, words and music in each.

Just photos: no selfie video, no sign-up, about a minute. Know anyone else who should be in it? Pass the link on. Shh, it’s a secret!
Who pays, and how much?
One person pays once, after the free preview: $39 for up to 15 photos or $49 for up to 30. Guests take part for free and never enter a card. Anyone who has the gift link can pay, so friends can chip in among themselves. The TV version, the phone version and the music are all included.
How early should you start?
About three weeks before the last day or Teacher Appreciation Week. In the US, Teacher Appreciation Week 2027 is May 3–7. Families are busy at the end of the year, so give them time and send one reminder. Building takes up to 10 hours after you press “Make the video”.
