For a wedding, friends and family each add a photo with the couple and a few words, and the photos become one professionally made video to play at the reception. The video above is our real example, made for a mother’s 65th birthday.

A frame from the example video: a bride and groom standing between older relatives in a bright hall, the message “Remember this? My wedding day...”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Alex”.

What should play at the reception?

The couple’s story, seen through the eyes of every guest. Picture the lights going down: the college years, the first trip together, both families and friends from every chapter appear one by one. Under each photo, a few words and the name of the guest who sent it.

  • At the reception
  • From every guest
  • No speeches needed
  • A vertical frame from the example video: two women sitting together on a sofa in front of a bookshelf, the message “Love you, my dear!”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Kate”.
    Love you, my dear!Kate
  • A vertical frame from the example video: an old black-and-white family portrait of a woman, a small boy and a man, the message “And here I am!”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Leo”.
    And here I am!Leo
  • A vertical frame from the example video: an old black-and-white photo of three women and a boy sitting in the grass, the message “Love you, sis!”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Lilia”.
    Love you, sis!Lilia
  • A vertical frame from the example video: a smiling woman in a pink blouse holding a baby in a red Santa suit, the message “Your newest love!”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Tim”.
    Your newest love!Tim

All four frames are from our real example, made for a mother’s 65th birthday: 8 people in 3 countries, 19 photos in two days, and not a single recorded clip.

Why a video instead of another toast?

Because everyone gets a voice, and nobody has to hold the mic. Not everyone likes to give a speech. In the video, each guest says what they want with one photo and a few words. Each frame holds the full photo, a few words and a small round portrait of the sender.

A frame from the example video with three marks: a bride and groom standing between older relatives in a bright hall, the message “Remember this? My wedding day...”, and a round portrait labelled “Photo from Alex”.
  1. A photo with the couple. From years ago or last week.
  2. A round portrait. It shows who sent the photo. It is optional.
  3. A few words. Up to 40 characters, sweet or funny.

Lines that fit the 40-character limit:

  • “Finally! We love you both!”

  • “Made for each other.”

  • “Here’s to forever!”

  • “Remember the road trip?”

  • “Cheers to you two!”

  • “Welcome to the family!”

More ideas are in What to write in a group video message.

Who can add a photo?

Every guest, plus the people who can’t make it. The wedding party, both families, school and college friends, coworkers. Guests who can’t travel can still send a photo and be part of the day. Nobody needs an account or an app to take part.

  • bridesmaids
  • groomsmen
  • both families
  • college friends
  • coworkers
  • roommates
  • best man
  • maid of honor
  • grandparents
  • cousins
  • neighbors
  • childhood friends
  • travel buddies
  • teammates
  • godparents
  • friends abroad
  • in-laws
  • every guest

How do you keep it a surprise?

Send the link to a guest group that does not include the couple. Anyone who has the link can see the photos in the group, so never share it in a chat with the couple. The invitation already ends with “Shh, it’s a secret!”.

Is there a version for phones?

Yes. You get two videos from the same photos: 16:9 for the TV and 9:16 for phones. Both are made at the same time and included in one price. Play the 16:9 video on the reception screen and send the 9:16 version to the couple’s phones.

  • 16:9 for the TV. Play it at the party or on a video call.
  • 9:16 for phones. It fills the screen. Send it to everyone who took part.
  • One price for both. The same photos, words and music in each.

Who pays, and how much?

One person pays once, after the free preview: $39 for up to 15 photos or $49 for up to 30. Guests take part for free and never enter a card. Anyone who has the gift link can pay, so friends can chip in among themselves. The TV version, the phone version and the music are all included.
